My First Blog Post

This is the first post on my new blog where every other day will be posting new recipes and tips on different foods and baked goods. I will also be giving cake decorating ideas for when you want to make your own delicious cake. Along with easy non-time consuming recipes for when you don’t have time or are lazy like me. Nido

Ingredients:

  • Pre made cake batter
  • Puff pastry sheet

Instructions:

Cut the sheet in half vertically and then cut 11 pieces out of both horizontally. One strip is for one Nido so put away the ones you don’t need. Coat each strip with egg wash and spray with water. Sprinkle sugar and then form a circle with each. Fill them in with your pre made cake batter and bake at 350 degrees for 15 mins then flip and bake for another 4 mins.

Strawberry filled chocolate muffin

Ingredients:

  • vegetable oil
  • eggs
  • Chocolate cake mix
  • water
  • Strawberry marmalade
  • Melting Chocolate
  • chocolate chips

Instructions:

In a bowel add 12 eggs, one cup of oil, one cup of water and 2 lbs of cake mix. Mix and fill up muffin pans and cook at 350 degrees for 15 mins. Rotate and bake for another 6 mins, once fully baked let them cool. Fill each muffin with strawberry marmalade and dip the top into melted chocolate and sprinkle with chocolate chips.

Varquillos

A bavarian creme filled puff pastry

Ingredients:

  • Pre made puff pastry sheet
  • Bavarian creme
  • sugar
  • one egg
  • Spray bottle of water
  • cone molds

Instructions:

Cut the sheet into 11 long strips and wrap each one on to the cone molds. Use the egg to make egg wash and brush it on then spray with water and add some sugar on top. Bake for 12 mins and then let cool. Fill with bavarian creme and add chocolate chips.

Filled Roll

Ingredients:

  • Cream cheese
  • Jalapenos
  • Pre-made roll mix from August 28th

Instructions:

From the recipe previously shown on the blog and flatten it out. Mix some diced jalapenos and your cream cheese and put a generous amount into the flattened dough and make a ball. Then cook at 350 degrees for 12 mins and then flip and cook for another 5 mins.

Lime Cookie Gelatin

Ingredients:

  • One pack of Lime gelatin
  • One pack of Lime Milk gelatin
  • One lime
  • Cookies (galletas marias)
  • One cup of Milk
  • One cup of Water

Instructions:

Heat up your water to boiling point and add you Lime gelatin. Place a layer of cookies on the bottom of your mold and add a layer of jello. Let it cool and add another layer of cookie and add your lime milk gelatin on top and let cool. Then serve.

Chocolate cake

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of white sugar
  • 1 3/4 all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup of unsweetened coca powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp of baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp of baking soda
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1/2 cup veggie oil
  • 2 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of boiling water

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit grease and flour 2 9 inch round pans. In a bowl mix all your ingredients but make sure the boiling water is last while you stir. Cook 30 to 35 minutes and then cool pans for 10 minutes.

Pumpkin Donuts

Makes one dozen

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups of sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups of pumpkin puree or canned pumpkin
  • 1 1/2 tsp of pumpkin pie spice
  • 3/4 tsp of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp of ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp of ground ginger
  • 1 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp of baking powder
  • 1 3/4 cups and 2 tbs of flour

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degree F and lightly grease two standard doughnut pans. Mix together your eggs, oil, sugar, pumpkin, spices, salt and baking powder and add your flour until your mixture is smooth. Fill each mold at least 3/4 full and bake 15 to 18 minutes. Cool down after on a wire rack and while still warm mix powder them with some cinnamon sugar.

Sugar Cookies

September 18th, 2019

Makes one dozen

Ingredients:

  • 2 3/4 cups of all purpose flour
  • one tsp of baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp of baking powder
  • 1 cup of softened butter
  • 1 1/2 cups of white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract

Instructions:

preheat oven to 375 degrees F and in a small bowl stir in your dry ingredients. In a separate bowl cream your butter and sugar then mix in your egg and vanilla extract. Then blend with your dry ingredients and mix. Then roll into small balls and place onto a greased pan or cookie sheet and bake for 8 to 10 minutes then cool on a wire rack

Champurrado

September 16th, 2019

This is a drink that is similar to hot chocolate.

Ingredients:

  • Milk
  • Chocolate abuelita
  • cinnamon sticks
  • maizena

Instructions:

Add five cups of milk and one bar of chocolate abuelita on medium heat. Add one broken cinnamon stick and one cup of maizena. Let the liquid boil but always stir never let it set otherwise the maizena will not mix in and it will spill over.
